Ashley Philipps, A brand built for the ones who are ready to leap.

Ashley Philipps had spent years in the classroom before she made the move out of it. Now she was helping other teachers do the same. The brand needed to hold that duality: the credibility of someone who had lived the experience, and the warmth of someone still in the work.

ScaleCraft ran an extended brand discovery to get there. Three stylescape directions were developed and presented before a direction was chosen. Ashley responded most strongly to MediumMaddie, a confident identity built around deep green, burnt orange, and a typography system that felt authoritative without being stiff. Elements of MildMarco were pulled in for the website and supporting materials, softening the palette where the audience needed room to feel seen.

The logo is an A and a P set in a form that doubles as a butterfly finding flight. It is not a metaphor that was explained to her. It was a mark she recognized immediately.

One of the more specific asks was a custom typeface built from her grandmother’s handwriting. The resulting script gave her something no off-the-shelf font could: a personal signature for her book cover and printed materials that belonged entirely to her.
