You’ve built something worth being proud of.

Your brand should prove it.
We build brands that do.

A 30 MIN CONVERSATION
NO PITCH DECK

We look at the whole business before we touch anything.

A brand isn’t a logo. It’s what people remember after they’ve done business with you. Before we design, automate or rebuild anything, we find out what’s actually going on: what’s working, what’s not, what deserves protecting and what the business needs to become next.

A rebrand is not a new logo. It is a decision about what who why how you are.

the moment you're in

Your business grew up. Your brand stayed behind.

Sometimes the problem is obvious. Sometimes it shows up in a dozen small places that no longer agree with each other.

01

You send the deck and then explain what it should have said.

02

Your best work sits behind a site you would rather not send.

03

You compete with companies half your size and lose on looks.

04

Every new hire describes your business a different way.

the crossroads

Something about the business doesn't fit anymore.

Maybe you’re launching something new and want the foundation right from the beginning. Maybe you’ve been at this for years and the company you’ve built no longer matches what’s representing it out in the world.

You’re not trying to become a completely different company. You need the market, your team and your customers to see the company you’ve already become, while making room for what comes next.

Maybe you built it with code. Maybe you built it with calluses. The industry matters less than the moment you’re in.

Start where the business is.

We make brands easier to understand, trust, and choose.

how we can work together

Find North

When you know something needs to change but you’re not yet sure what. We help clarify the real problem, what matters most and the few moves worth making next.

Build what's next

When the direction is clear and it’s time to make it real. Brand, web, customer journeys, systems, automation, AI or a combination built around the actual need.

Stay oriented

When you want an experienced outside perspective to remain in the room as the company grows, changes and encounters the next set of decisions.

the proof

The process can repeat. The prescription shouldn't.

Chroma Coatings

Repositioned around the company it was becoming, not the residential identity it had outgrown.

3.1× + inbound requests
$26K increase in average contract value

Zero Copy Labs

The existing brand had good bones. The right answer wasn’t a rebrand. It was making what already existed finally work together.

Journey Mentoring

Discovery came first: audience, promise, positioning and voice before identity. The design followed the thinking.

the ScaleCraft model

The right team should follow the problem, not the org chart.

ScaleCraft keeps the strategic core senior and assembles a trusted bench of specialists around what the work actually requires.

Brand, design, web, content, automation, AI and specialized execution come together as needed. You don’t pay for layers of people who don’t need to be in the room, and you aren’t limited to whoever happens to be available.

The point isn’t to make ScaleCraft look bigger. It’s to make sure the right people are working on the right problem.

built around the work

You'll probably like working with us if:

  • You’ve built something real and know it deserves better.
  • You want perspective, not another vendor waiting for instructions.
  • You’re willing to hear something you didn’t expect.
  • You think in years, not campaigns.
  • You care about what customers and employees actually experience, not just a dashboard.

The work is strongest when someone in the room has the authority and willingness to make decisions, and when the goal is better rather than simply safer.

FAQ

Fair questions. Straight answers.

If you're considering bringing in an outside partner, you should know what you're getting into. Here are a few things worth asking us, or anyone else you're considering.

What exactly does ScaleCraft do?

ScaleCraft helps established businesses close the gap between the company they've become and the way they show up in the world.

We're not strictly a branding agency or a marketing agency. We work where brand, customer experience, marketing, and technology overlap. Sometimes the problem is the brand. Sometimes it's a website, customer journey, marketing system, or automation, or some tangled combination of all of them.

We start by figuring out what's actually getting in the way, then build around that rather than prescribing the same package to everyone. The common thread is making the business easier to understand, trust, choose, and operate.

Who will I actually work with?

Justin L. Johns, ScaleCraft's founder, leads every engagement from strategy through execution. You aren't sold by a senior person and handed to a junior account manager after the contract is signed.

When the work requires additional expertise, we bring in specialists from a trusted network, assembled around the project. You get senior accountability across the whole arc, from brand to marketing, without paying for an agency org chart full of people who don't need to be involved.

Do you work with companies like mine?

Probably, but industry isn't our first filter.

ScaleCraft works best with established businesses, founders, and leadership teams that have built something real and reached a point where some part of the brand, experience, or growth engine hasn't kept up.

That might be a SaaS company preparing for its next stage or a thirty-year-old service business whose reputation is substantially better than its website. Different businesses. Surprisingly similar crossroads.

How do I know what I actually need?

You don't need to know before you talk to us.

In fact, we'd rather hear the problem than your proposed solution. “We need a new website” is useful information, but the better conversation is usually about why you think you need one, what's happening in the business, and what isn't working the way it should.

Sometimes the answer is a website. Sometimes the website is perfectly innocent.

Will you replace our team or vendors?

Usually not. We're not interested in replacing useful things for the privilege of invoicing you for new ones.

We can lead, supplement, or work alongside an existing team, and we collaborate with developers, media partners, photographers, agencies, and other specialists where it makes sense. Part of the early work is understanding what you already have, what's working, and what's worth protecting.

Keep what's working, fix the friction, and replace only what earns its replacement.

How much does it cost, and how long does it take?

Both depend on what we're scoping. Every engagement has different goals, so we don't price or schedule it like the last one.

A focused strategic project is very different from rebuilding a brand, website, and customer journey together. After the first conversation, we'll recommend the smallest sensible scope that can actually move the business forward. Before work begins, you'll have a clear price, the phases, what we need from you, and what should exist at the other end.

If we don't think the investment makes sense for the problem, we'll tell you that too.

Will I own the work when we're done?

Yes. Your brand assets, approved creative, website, and business accounts belong to your business. Third-party licenses, like fonts or stock photography, are set up in your name wherever the license allows. We don't hold clients hostage through passwords, proprietary accounts, or files they can't access.

We document what we build and help your team understand how to use it. Some clients continue with ScaleCraft for growth, optimization, creative, or strategic leadership. Others take what we've built and run with it. Both are successful outcomes.

How does ScaleCraft use AI?

Quite a bit. Just not as a substitute for judgment.

We use AI where it makes research, analysis, production, or operations faster and more capable. We also build AI-powered systems and automation when there's a legitimate business case for them.

What we don't do is hand your company to a language model and call the output strategy. Positioning, creative judgment, and the decisions that define your business remain human-led.

How will we know if the work is successful?

We define that together before we start.

The right measure depends on the work. It might be qualified leads, conversion, sales velocity, customer retention, adoption, operational efficiency, or simply giving a sales team something they're finally proud to put in front of a prospect.

We care about useful evidence, not a dashboard full of numbers that happen to be going up and to the right.

What happens if ScaleCraft isn't the right fit?

We'll tell you.

The first conversation isn't a disguised pitch deck. It's a chance to understand what's happening in the business and whether we're equipped to help. Sometimes the right answer is ScaleCraft. Sometimes it's a specialist, an internal hire, or simply fixing one thing before spending money on anything else.

A bad-fit project isn't improved by putting a proposal around it.
